Planting/Watering/Harvesting Your Crops

Crops are your best way to earn coins especially potatoes and cotton.
But, some of the crops need oil to plant.

Needs 4 oil...

Radish

Tobacco

Hops

Needs 8 oil...

Potatoes

Cotton

Needs NO oil...

Beans

Corn

Carrots

Pepper

Wheat

If your low on oil, make sure you use your shovel to dig when ever you can.

You also can receive oil (and experience) for planting and watering your crops.

You do not need water from your well to water your crops you will have it automatically. It also does not use your energy to water crops, only to harvest them. Keep those crops watered. They will dry out letting you water them again which is a great way to get some extra experience.

Now when your ready to harvest, check to see if any of your quests need crops to complete it. YOU MUST HARVEST CROPS YOURSELF FOR THE QUESTS.If you let your neighbors do it for you, it will NOT count. If you don't have any quests then feel free to let your neighbors harvest for you as you will receive the same things either way.

While you are harvesting you may receive a "Prize Wining Crop" or PWC. These are needed for a few quests as well as the Cook House. You will not get one for every crop harvested. For example, if you plant 30 crops you may get 2 PWC while next time you plant 30 crops, you may get 7 PWC. It is random but I do believe mastering a crop (check your Vegetable Stand) gives you a better chance of getting a PWC, at least it seems to for me. Let me know if there is anything I left out.

I left out your crops withering, silly me. Yes your crops do wither but on a much slower rate than other games. I haven't checked out the actual times yet of every crop but I think it's about four times slower than the growth rate. So if beans take 5 minutes to grow, they will take about 20 minutes to wither. I will have top let some crops wither and find out the actual times. But dont just clear those withered crops away, you can still bring those poor brown plants back to life. You can just wait for your wonderful neighbors to water them or you can cook the Big Lunch in the Cook House.

The same rules apply to the Barley and Pumpkins. Even though your spending BN on them, that doesn't guarantee you will get a PWC from every crop.
